so: i didn't take the next round, but i did place in the top five percent with 136th out of 3354. so much for a free trip to australia...
i'm sticking with money from now on, i think. after playing that satellite for three hours trying to hit one of only nine places out of thousands, taking first in a forty-five player sit-n-go afterward felt pretty easy. and the seventeen dollars, while not much, felt better than a chance at a chance at a chance to play in a serious real world tourney.
got some cash into my account with a prepaid credit card, but after a hard day of work, then coming home to more work, i decided to take it easy. first place out of 630, tho. not bad! now if i can beat another 5000 people, i’ll be entered into a tourney where i have a chance at making some money.
